IMM Re-certification Criteria and Procedures

IMM Council has agreed during its meeting on 18th December 2020 to develop a general recertification criteria and procedures for all IMM certification schemes since there are inconsistency of the current re-certification criteria and procedures for different IMM certification schemes, especially for those which are not ISO17024 accredited. This re-certification procedures will be implemented on 1st January 2022.

 

The general recertification criteria and procedures for IMM certified personnel

6 months prior to expiry of the 5-year certification, candidate can apply for re-certification for another 5 years by providing proof to IMM that he/she has been employed in a related profession and has accumulated sufficient Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points. 

Before the end of the 5-year re-certification period, candidate can apply for re-certification for another 5 years by providing proof to IMM that he/she has been employed in a related profession and has accumulated sufficient CPD points. Prior to that, the candidate shall attend the Refresher Course for the certification scheme.

The minimum number of CPD Points per year shall be 10 points.
The minimum number of CPD Points per 5 year for re-certification shall be 100 points.

The candidate must re-sit the certification examination if he/she has been out of the profession for more than 18 months continuously during the 5-year certification or re-certification period.
